A hard tag from a Central Michigan pitcher led to the benches clearing and multiple ejections in the Central Michigan–Toledo baseball game on Sunday.
The play took place in the top of the seventh inning. Toledo led 3-2, and left fielder Luke Walton had just hit a slow grounder down the first base line. The ball was fielded by Central Michigan relief pitcher Max Hammond. Hammond scooped the ball up and went to tag Walton when he gave the Toledo outfielder a little extra shove on the tag.
The shove sent Walton flying through the air, and he immediately got up and headed for Hammond. Benches cleared, but nothing more than some light shoving took place after the play. Both players were ejected from the game.

Toledo shortstop Charlie Scholvin sent a 2-run shot into the sky in the top of the 9th inning to tie the game up at 5 and send it into extras.
However, Harrison Bowman of Central Michigan would send a base hit up the middle in the bottom of the 11th inning to walk it off for the Chippewas, winning 6-5.
