PERRY, N.Y. — Two people are facing charges after Perry Police say they left a person overdosing on drugs in an apartment.
Police say on Feb. 14 at around 10:30 p.m., they responded to Lake Street Apartment Complex for reports of people carrying what seemed to be an unconscious person in an apartment before leaving. They say the caller was alerted about it through their doorbell video security.
In the video, the two suspects, Jamie Murphy and Curtis Harkins, can be seen what appears to be an unresponsive person into the apartment before abruptly leaving.
When police got there, they say they found the person unresponsive with shallow breaths and a weak pulse. They say they gave the person two doses of Narcan after suspecting a heroin overdose. The person was brought to the Wyoming County Community Hospital for treatment.
After investigations, Murphy and Harkins were arrested and charged with reckless endangerment for failing to render proper aid by calling 911. Both of them are expected to appear in court in March.
