The eagle nest cam at Iroquois National Wildlife Refuge in Orleans and Genesee counties captured a special moment Monday, as a bald eagle laid a second egg.
Video from Monday showed the female eagle fluffing and adjusting the nest after laying the egg. The male eagle soon arrived, and the pair engaged in a series of calls.
Refuge officials believe the first egg was laid on Friday night. Bald eagles typically lay eggs at the same time of day every three to four days.
The live feed will be monitored on Thursday around 5 p.m. to see if a third egg will be laid.
