Circa Survive fans got an unexpected surprise on Feb. 23, when the Anthony Green-fronted band's dormant Instagram page came back to life three years after announcing an "indefinite hiatus" to share that they're reuniting to perform at the Louder Than Life festival in Louisville, KY, in September 2026.
The "Act Appalled" performers, who last played together five years ago, posted the lineup to the event with no comment, and fans quickly noticed that that a "Circa Survive Reunion Show" was slated to take the stage on day three (Saturday) of the four-day event.
"Circa Alive?" joked one fan, while another added, "CIRCA SURVIVED THE HIATUS!" A third wrote, "Just stopped the f--king car, to see if this was true."
View this post on InstagramCirca Survive was formed in 2004 by vocalist Green and guitarist Colin Frangicetto, who added guitarist Brendan Ekstrom, bassist Nick Beard, and drummer Steve Clifford soon after. They put out six albums together before announcing an "indefinite hiatus" in 2022, which Green later admitted was more of a breakup.
However, in that same interview, Green may have secretly been hinting at the reunion all along. "Dude, it's it's been my dream ever since [I was] a young musician to have a band that breaks up and then gets back together... you know what I'm saying?" he told Hardlore in December 2025.
Green, whose other projects include Saosin, L.S. Dunes, Zolof the Rock & Roll Destroyer, Audience of One, Jeer at Rome, The Sound of Animals Fighting, and High and Driving, as well as his work as a solo artist, has continued touring and performing on his own. In 2025 alone, he did a solo tour for his new album So Long, Avalon, toured with L.S. Dunes and did a 20th anniversary tour with The Sound of Animals Fighting.
In 2026, he's touring in support of Microwave, but fans are hoping Circa Survive will announce a reunion tour as well.
The Louder Than Life festival will take Louisville, KY, by storm from Sept. 17-20, 2026.
