Why Pool Cleaners Showed Up to Nancy Guthries Home Following Disappearance

A pool cleaning company is explaining why workers were spotted at Nancy Guthrie’s home amid her disappearance.

“We were there to provide general pool service — nothing more, nothing less,” Ken Kingan, general manager of Ambiance Pool Service, exclusively told Us Weekly on Friday, February 13. “We were escorted in and out to provide service to the pool. It’s an ongoing weekly pool service, once a week every week.”

Earlier in the day, reporters shared video of work trucks from the Tucson, Arizona, company visiting Nancy’s backyard.

In some footage, two workers were seen dragging nets through the water in Nancy’s backyard.

“It is very common to use a net to remove debris that has sunk to the bottom of the pool,” Kingan explained. “That is all the family hired us to do — to maintain the quality of the pool.”

The general manager added that his company is “not a part of the investigation, and we were not there to recover evidence.”

Nancy was last seen alive in Tucson on January 30 after spending dinner with family members.

According to police, a 911 call was made by Nancy’s family around 12 p.m. on February 1 after the 84-year-old didn’t meet up with friends to watch a church service virtually. Patrol arrived soon after and began search and rescue protocol.

“It is a tragedy what has happened,” Kingan shared when discussing the disappearance of Nancy.

The FBI and local law enforcement continue to ask for the public’s help in locating a potential suspect associated with Nancy’s kidnapping.

Earlier this week, FBI Director Kash Patel shared new surveillance photos taken on Nancy’s porch the night of her disappearance.

According to the FBI, the suspect is described as a “male, approximately 5’9” – 5’10” tall, with an average build. In the video, he is wearing a black, 25-liter ‘Ozark Trail Hiker Pack’ backpack.”

Although the FBI has collected more than 13,000 tips from the public related to this case since February 1, no official suspects or persons of interest have been identified.

“Our mom is a kind, faithful, loyal, fiercely loving woman of goodness and light. She is funny, spunky and clever. She has grandchildren who adore her and crowd around her and cover her with kisses,” Savannah said alongside her siblings, Annie and Camron Guthrie, in an Instagram video posted on February 4. “She loves fun and adventure. She is a devoted friend. She is full of kindness and knowledge. Talk to her and you’ll see.”

The Today show coanchor added, “Mommy, if you are hearing this, you are a strong woman. You are God’s precious daughter, Nancy. We believe and know that even in this valley, He is with you. Everyone is looking for you, Mommy, everywhere. We will not rest.”

Savannah has been absent from NBC’s morning show ever since her mom was reported missing. Hoda Kotb and Sheinelle Jones have been working alongside Craig Melvin to cover for their colleague and share updates on Nancy’s case.
