VICTOR, N.Y. — The Urban League of Rochester celebrated students’ achievements on Thursday night at its third annual Black Scholars Recognition Ceremony.
Families gathered at Victor Junior High to honor students maintaining an average grade of “B” or higher.
“It shows the hard work I’m putting in means something,” Marcus Cochrane, an award recipient, said. “And the main thing I do to focus on this is just try to pay attention in class, really.”
Twenty-six students were honored at the event.
