With his appearances for Arsenal against Leeds United on Saturday, Declan Rice made it to 300 games in the Premier League just a few weeks after turning 27.
Declan Rice has become one of the youngest players in Premier League history to reach 300 Premier League appearances after being named in the Arsenal starting lineup to face Leeds United on Saturday afternoon.
Since signing for the Gunners in a deal worth £105 million in July 2023, Rice has now played in 96 of a possible 100 Premier League matches for the club. He played in all 38 games in his first season (37 starts, one substitute appearance) before missing just three last season (33 starts, two sub appearances), and he has featured in all but one this season (22 starts, one sub appearance).
He also represented West Ham 204 times in the Premier League, meaning he has now reached his triple century in the competition.
Rice has made it to this landmark aged 27 years and 17 days on the day of the Leeds game. That makes him the fifth-youngest player to make 300 Premier League appearances.
Wayne Rooney holds the record as the youngest player to reach 300 games in the competition, doing so at 26 years and 58 days old. He made just 67 of his first 300 appearances for Everton before moving to Manchester United in 2004, where he made 233 more appearances to set the record.
The evergreen James Milner (26 years, 117 days) is second in the list, with his first 300 games split into 48 for Leeds, 94 for Newcastle, 100 for Aston Villa and 58 for Manchester City.
Gareth Barry (26 years, 247 days) is the third-youngest player to make it to 300 Premier League games, and he made all of them for Villa, followed by Raheem Sterling (26 years, 348 days), who played 95 times in the competition for Liverpool before his next 205 came for Man City.
Rice will hope to follow Milner and Barry rather than Rooney when it comes to longevity. Barry currently holds the record as the player with the most appearances in Premier League history (653), but Milner is closing in fast (651): the Brighton midfielder needs just three more appearances to break that record.

Premier LeaguePlayers with the Most Premier League Appearances
7 days ago Graham BellSterling has 396 Premier League appearances to his name, but had an unsuccessful loan spell at Arsenal last season and, having just been released by Chelsea, there is a chance he won’t add many more games to his tally.
Rice has 25 goals and 28 assists to his name in Premier League games, with most of his 53 goal involvements coming for Arsenal (33). He also has 72 international caps, putting him 32nd in the all-time list of international appearances for England.
Only a few weeks past his 27th birthday, Rice has a great deal more to offer and plenty of time to improve his numbers in each of these columns. He will also be hoping to add at least one trophy to his cabinet with Arsenal this season.
