GIRLS BASKETBALL

No. 1 Archbishop Mitty 95, Valley Christian 24

    Mitty continues to breeze through the West Catholic Athletic League, defeating Valley Christian by 71 points on the road. Iowa commit McKenna Woliczko led the Monarchs with 22 points and sophomore Maliya Hunter added 20. Mitty (17-2, 6-0) did not allow the Warriors to score more than eight points in any quarter. Valley Christian (8-13, 1-5) got seven points from Mia Kagita. 

    No. 4 Priory 63, Notre Dame-San Jose 26

    Priory (14-5, 6-0) picked up another blowout West Bay Athletic League win, this time routing Notre Dame-San Jose by 37 points. Ugreat Daniels scored a game-high 22 points and grabbed seven rebounds. Adelaide Chan and Sasha Johnson each had nine points. Notre Dame dropped to 9-10, 1-5. 

    No. 7 Pinewood 68, Notre Dame-Belmont 30

    Freshman Sophia Bowles scored a game-high 25 points to lead Pinewood to a blowout WBAL win over Notre Dame-Belmont. Andri Wilkinson had 14 points and 10 rebounds and Caitlyn Kramer totaled 10 points and 11 rebounds for Pinewood, which improved to 16-2, 5-1. Notre Dame dropped to 14-3, 3-3. 

    No. 13 Salesian 69, St. Mary’s-Berkeley 17

    Salesian earned a Tri-County Athletic League Rock Division win on senior night behind 13 points from Leia Atendido. Emma Bryant and Caileigh Edwards each had nine while Faith Thompson chipped in eight. St. Mary’s (11-9, 2-4) was led by sophomore Alana Rice, who had nine points. Salesian is now 14-8, 7-0. 

    No. 15 Moreau Catholic 85, James Logan 43

    Elisa Ortega scored a game-high 19 points to lead the Mariners to a Mission Valley Athletic League win. Mahlaysia Atkins scored 16, Abigail Wong had 13 and Jennifer Schroeder added 10 for the Mariners, who improved to 16-6, 10-0. Logan dropped to 11-10, 7-3. 

    BOYS BASKETBALL

    No. 3 St. Ignatius 72, Serra 41

    The Wildcats bounced back after a tough West Catholic Athletic League loss to Riordan on Tuesday. Point guard Shawn Boquiren had a game-high 17 points and hit five of his seven 3-point attempts. Sophomore Alex Moore had a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Serra dropped to 11-7, 3-5 while St. Ignatius improved to 16-2, 7-1. 

    No. 7 Bellarmine 71, St. Francis 47

    Bellarmine rolled to a WCAL victory behind 26 points from Will Corbett. Brennan Williams and Sofian Stringfellow each had 13 points for Bellarmine, which improved to 13-5, 5-3. St. Francis (8-11, 0-8) got 10 points from Weston Edwards.

    Pioneer rallied from a 16-point deficit in the third quarter, but came up short in overtime as EV came up with a Blossom Valley Athletic League Mt. Hamilton Division win. Ananth Kothapalli came up with 21 points and Donovan Truong scored 15 while making 13-of-16 free throw attempts. The Cougars went 9-of-10 from the line in the overtime period to seal the win. Pioneer (12-8, 2-6) was led by Brayden Lin, who scored 21 points. EV improved to 12-6, 4-4. 

    Head-Royce 57, St. Joseph Notre Dame 52

    Three players scored in double figures as the Jayhawks earned a crucial Bay Counties East Division win. Nick Taubes led with 16 points, freshman point guard Tua Montoya had 15 and Jack Peay added 14 for Head-Royce (11-11, 3-4). Ariel Garcia Jajeh had a game-high 17 points for St. Joseph Notre Dame, which dropped to 8-15, 1-6. 

    GIRLS SOCCER

    No. 3 Carondelet 3, Granada 0

    Carondelet (11-1-3, 7-0) left no doubt against a plucky Granada team on Thursday, getting goals from Elle Sloan, Tessa de Melo and Madeline Roder to vanquish the Matadors (11-3-2, 3-3-1). Mercy Karson, Natalia Brunal and Isabella Shalauta notched assists for the Cougars.

    No. 4 California 3, Foothill 1

    Cal (12-2, 5-1) got goals from Lola Cervantes, Hayley Hamilton and Alexis McGill to handle Foothill (4-4-1, 3-3) at home. Cervantes and Hamilton added assists on the latter two goals. Maddie Gomez had 11 saves in the first half, and Kaylen Young had four in the second plus the one goal against. 

    No. 9 Los Gatos 5, Mountain View 0

    Abby Nelson scored two goals and Bella Cain added one as Los Gatos (10-1-3, 5-0-1) took care of Mountain View (11-4, 5-3) in a home rout.

    Mountain View (11-2-2, 7-2) took care of business in its latest Santa Clara Valley Athletic League De Anza Division matchup, as Cyrus Shafie and Javier Teeter scored the goals with assists from Mikey Montoya and Ayan Kothari. Center backs Patrick McGuirk and Brayden Graham helped hold Los Gatos (7-4-2, 4-3-2) without a shot on goal.

    No. 6 De La Salle 6, Granada 2

    De La Salle (11-3-1, 6-1) reached deep into its scoring bag on Thursday night, bagging five goals in the first half to cruise to the win over Granada (9-5-1, 3-4). Joey Ospeck had two goals and an assist, Preston Spalasso had two goals, Calvin Virgilio had a goal and assist, Nicholas Varela had a goal from a Bryce Duncan assist, and Faris Shlah had two assists. Ellis Toal had two saves. 

    No. 10 Los Altos 1, No. 7 Homestead 1
