Chapel Hill Carrboro City Schools announced it will hold a remote-learning day on Tuesday, Jan. 27, as a result of icy conditions from Winter Storm Fern.
The system had a previously scheduled teacher work day Monday, and thus was closed for students regardless of weather.
specified that Pre-K and elementary school students can work on previously provided materials and activities, while middle and high school students will have asynchronous web assignments to complete. The system said this will be the first remote-learning day used this year out of five, and thus will not need to be made up by students. It also said it has yet to make a decision about Wednesday.
As of 12:33 p.m. Monday, Orange County Schools and Chatham County Schools have yet to announce plans for instruction Tuesday.
