ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Rochester Police responded to a fight early Sunday morning near S. Winton Road and Hoyt Place involving several people. Officers arrived around 2:28 a.m. and found a 22 year old man with at least one stab wound to the upper body and a 30 year old woman with a laceration.
Both victims, who are Rochester residents, were taken to local hospitals by ambulance with non life threatening injuries.
Police say the incident began as a verbal dispute that escalated into a physical altercation. No arrests have been made in connection to the injuries.
During the investigation, officers found a different 22 year old Rochester man in possession of a handgun. He will be charged with fourth‑degree criminal possession of a weapon and criminal possession of a firearm.
The investigation into the assault remains ongoing.
