A woman is suing the Six Flags Great America theme park located in Gurnee, Ill., after she allegedly fell from the park's Superman: Ultimate Flight roller coaster in 2024.
According to a complaint filed on Dec. 31, 2025, obtained by People, a park guest named Annabella Pearce attended the theme park on July 12, 2024, when the incident allegedly happened.
The complaint claims that Pearce got on the Superman: Ultimate Flight ride, and during the experience, the roller coaster “failed to properly enter the off-loading platform area causing [Pearce] to fall off the ride.”
She allegedly struck her right knee during the fall, causing an injury that required “surgery, therapy and other treatments” to heal, while Pearce also claims she dealt with “physical and emotional trauma, pain and suffering, disability, loss of a normal life and lost wages" as a result of the alleged incident.
Pearce's lawsuit accuses Great America, LLC, the company behind Six Flags Great America, of one count of negligence and one count of Res Ipsa Loquitor, which is an inference of negligence. The former guest is seeking damages of over $50,000, along with court fees and additional relief, which would be determined in the trial.

View this post on InstagramThe official Six Flags website describes the experience of the Superman: Ultimate Flight ride, saying, "You’ll strap in and get ready to take flight the same way SUPERMAN does: face down, head first. And begin your ascent by climbing 115 feet high, only to plunge down into a 50° angle drop."
"Flying at 50 mph, you’ll go headfirst into a pretzel-shaped loop, swooping you up 78 feet high before you dive back to the ground only to come right back up again," the description continues, before mentioning a "high-speed horseshoe curve," an "insane" helix, and a 360-degree inversion.
The minimum height required to board the ride is 54 inches, and the roller coaster is rated a five on the park's thrill level meter.
