India pacer Mohammed Siraj is all set to start a new journey in his cricketing career. The 31-year-old was named Hyderabad skipper for the second phase of the Ranji Trophy, on Wednesday. This will be the first time that Siraj will be leading Hyderabad, and will be replacing Rahul Singh at the helm.

The selection committee included P Hari Mohan, has NP Singh, Jyoti Shetty, Sheik Riyazuddin and Akash Bhandari. This will also be Siraj’s first Ranji match in the season, who was busy with the national team, when the other Ranji Trophy matches were played.
As far as Siraj’s record is concerned, he has played 45 Tests, 48 ODIs and 16T20Is. He has been nothing short of excellent in the FC matches, where in 88 encounters, he has picked up 309 wickets at an average of 26.
