After spending a season at Michigan, Elijah Dotson will continue his college career in the SEC at Mizzou.
Dotson told On3’s Hayes Fawcett on Tuesday that he has committed to the Tigers. The Detroit native will have three years of eligibility remaining.
Dotson played in 12 games for the Wolverines in 2025 and saw a promising start to his career as he was credited with 11 tackles. He also picked up an interception against Central Michigan in just his second collegiate game.
The four-star recruit, who was rated the No. 11 safety in his class by 247Sports’ Composite, was part of a wave of transfer portal entries for Michigan after the firing of Sherrone Moore in December. After several visits, Dotson has reportedly pledged to the Tigers.
Eli Drinkwitz has now brought in 17 players out of the portal in this cycle. Dotson is the second player of the day to pledge. On Tuesday morning, the Tigers received a commitment from veteran quarterback Nick Evers, whose college career initially began with Oklahoma but has taken him to Wisconsin, UConn, and now Mizzou.
Dotson is also the fourth portal commitment for the Tigers’ secondary. Cornerback Jahlil Florence (Oregon) made the call on Jan. 5. Safeties JaDon Blair (Notre Dame) and Kensley Louidor-Faustin (Auburn) followed on Jan. 6 and 7, respectively.
