Keskula, a native of Tartu, Estonia, has an impressive resume that includes six individual Estonian Junior titles and a Short Course European Championships relay final appearance.
The latter title was earned in Lublin, Poland, last month. He anchored Estonia’s 200 free relay in 21.63 to an 8th place finish in the European Championships final. In Lublin, he also notched new best times in the 100 free (48.29) and 50 fly (24.64).
Two weeks prior to Euros, Keskula rocked the Estonian Short Course Junior Championships, winning six events: the 50/100/200 free (22.46/48.40/1:47.21), the 50/100 fly (24.80/54.53), and the 100 IM (55.47).
In long course, Keskula’s 2025 accomplishments include a semifinal appearance in the 100 free at the European Junior Championships (49.96). At the same meet, he also posted new lifetime bests in the 50 free (22.76) and 200 free (1:51.08).
See Keskula’s bests below (SCM/SCY):
50 free: 22.45/20.35 100 free: 48.29/43.66 200 free: 1:47.00/1:36.92 50 fly: 24.64/22.60 100 fly: 54.53/49.40Based on his current times, Keskula will make the biggest impact for the Wildcats in the 100 free. His 43.66 would place him 3rd in the 2024-2025 season behind now-graduated Max Berg and current junior Justin Peresse. This season, the same time puts Keskula second behind first year Falemana Tuufui. He will be a frontrunner for a 400 free relay spot for Kentucky in the SEC Championships, where they placed 10th in the event and 9th overall last year. Individually, a 42.75 made the 2025 SEC final.
His 20.3 50 free and 1:36.9 200 free put him in the middle of a crowded contingent of sprinters in Lexington.
Kentucky’s public commits for the Class of 2031 consists of two European freestylers: Keskula on the sprint end, and World Junior Championships medalist Filippo Bertoni of Italy on the distance front.
