Damascus, Jan. 6 (SANA) First semester examinations for basic and secondary education for the 2025–2026 academic year began on Tuesday across all Syrian provinces.
Hamza Hourieh, Director of the Media Office at the Ministry of Education, told SANA’s reporter that more than 4.5 million students at various educational levels headed to nearly 12,000 schools to do their exams.
He affirmed that the Ministry of Education and the directorates of education had completed all necessary preparations for the examinations, including organization, securing, and distributing answer sheets, in order to provide a suitable environment for students.
It is noteworthy that the examinations conclude on January 15, while the mid-year holiday begins on January 16 and continues until Saturday, January 24. The second semester will commence on Sunday, January 25, in all schools.
