Los Altos Vice Mayor Neysa Fligor and former Saratoga Councilmember Rishi Kumar are competing to replace Stone for the remainder of his term, which expires December 2026. Fligor, who is currently the assistant assessor and was endorsed by Stone, placed first in the Nov. 4 election but was unable to cross the 50% threshold to win the seat outright.
Registered voters can either cast their ballot by mail, return it to one of the 109 ballot drop boxes in the county or vote in person at one of the 38 vote centers.
All mailed ballots must be postmarked by Dec. 30 and received by the Registrar of Voters within seven days.
Vote centers are open today until 8 p.m. and offer language assistance, accessible voting machines and same-day conditional voter registration for those who are not yet registered to vote. Ballot drop boxes will also be open until 8 p.m.
“Every vote counts, and every election counts,” Registrar of Voters Matt Moreles said in a press release. “Our office is working hard to provide voters with a variety of convenient and accessible voting options so every voter can make their voice heard in this important countywide election, even during this busy year-end season.”
Voters can track their ballot by registering at wheresmyballot.sos.ca.gov to receive text, email or phone updates about when their ballot has been received and is counted.
