ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The mother of a person missing since Dec. 23 says her loved one’s body has been found by police.
Carolyn “Danny” Siplin, 33, had been missing since Dec. 23, just two days before Christmas. Siplin’s mother Tracey Riley told News10NBC Sunday that police found Danny’s body on the side of the Smith Street bridge by the brushes and gorge in the area of St. Paul Street.
Riley says police just notified her today and confirmed the body they found is Danny. The Rochester Police Department has not yet notified News10NBC of Danny’s body being found; we have reached out to RPD.
Siplin’s family had held onto hope that their loved one would be found safely.
Siplin drives Riley, to work every morning at 5 a.m. but on the morning of Dec. 23, Riley woke up and Siplin was gone. Riley immediately called Siplin.
“She said, ‘Ma, I just wanted to see the snow, you know I love the snow. I just wanted to take a ride. She said, ‘I’m coming across the bridge, I’ll be there in a little while.’ She never came,” Riley said.
Riley kept calling over and over again but Siplin didn’t answer. About a half hour later, an officer with the RPD answered the phone. Siplin’s vehicle was found running on Upper Falls Bridge near St. Paul with the doors closed and Siplin’s wallet inside.
