For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.
Ansley Allen has verbally committed to the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) for the class of 2030. Allen confirmed the news in an email to SwimSwam, writing:
I’m ecstatic to announce my commitment to the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where I will continue my academic and swimming career at the Division 1 level. I am thankful for my family and their unconditional support as well as the wonderful teammates over the years. My thanks to Coach Sue for always believing in me and for guiding me with confidence and strength; you have made such an impact on the swimmer I am today. An equally heartfelt thank you to Coach Bill for inspiring me to keep swimming; I will continue to swim in his honor, carrying his encouragement with me every day. I am so grateful to be given this opportunity – thank you Coach Pat, Coach Julia, and the entire UNLV coaching staff. I’m excited to join the team and am ready for the journey. GO REBELS!

100 Freestyle: 52.51 200 Freestyle: 1:52.39 500 Freestyle: 5:06.72Allen attends H.B. Plant High School in Tampa, Florida, and trains year-round with the Tampa Bay Aquatic Club. She’s primarily a middle-distance freestyle specialist, strong across the 100, 200 and 500.
The future Rebel has improved throughout each season of her high school career, most recently dropping from 53.41 to 52.51 in the 100, from 1:56.75 to 1:52.39 in the 200, and from 5:27.29 to 5:06.72 in the 500 over the past year. The 500 is a relatively newfound event for her—she only swam it on five occasions prior to February 2025, and the last time she swam it before then was in July 2022.
Allen most recently competed at the Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) 4A State meet, where she produced her current PBs in the 100 and 200 free. Her 200 time earned her ninth place, while she touched 10th in the 100 free. It was a massive upgrade from her performances in 2024, when she finished 12th in the 200 IM and 16th in the 100 free. As a sophomore, she qualified for the meet and finished 14th in the 200 IM and 15th in the 100 free. She only qualified as a relay swimmer as a freshman.
The UNLV women placed second at the 2025 Mountain West Conference Championships for the third straight year. Allen will need to drop time to score at the meet, as times of 50.80, 1:51.34, and 5:01.91 were needed to qualify for the ‘C’ finals.
On the team’s 2024-25 depth chart, she would have ranked eighth in the 200 free, ninth in the 500 free, and 12th in the 100 free. She could become a factor on the team’s 400 and 800 free relays down the line if she continues her trend of improving year over year.
Allen is set to join Esme Quay, Veronica Shofran, Lily Kemmerer, Ashley Wilkie, and Tegan Matthews in the Rebels’ class of 2030. Quay (52.26) will make for a strong training partner in the 100 free, along with butterflier Kemmerer, who owns bests of 53.06, 1:53.37, and 5:09.59 across the 100-500.
