SAN JOSE — Authorities are investigating a fatal hit and run that left one person dead in North San Jose early Saturday morning, police said.
An unknown driver at about 1:50 a.m. hit a male pedestrian in the intersection of N. 1st Street and Technology Place, police said. The man died of his injuries at the scene, according to authorities.
The driver reportedly fled the intersection, which is adjacent to the US Highway 101 overpass and several businesses such as the Bay 101 Casino.
Police shut down the roadway between Skyport Drive and Technology Place on Saturday morning and were still investigating in the area by about 7 a.m.
Authorities did not release the identity or age of the victim and did not provide any further details about the driver or vehicle involved.
