After a complete game against the Rangers, this one didn’t start very well. The Blues were getting a delayed penalty and the Blackhawks just… stopped skating. Logan Mailloux came off the bench and rifled a shot between Louis Crevier‘s legs to give St. Louis a lead less than four minutes into the first period. Matt Luff joined Mailloux in scoring his first goal of the season later in the first period. After not playing much defense for the first 12 minutes or so, the Blackhawks were able to get on the board before the end of the first.
The Blackhawks started the second period much better than the first… but the Blues scored the first goal of the middle frame to push their lead back to two. There was another fight in the second period but not much more. Chicago did have a 10-9 advantage in scoring chances at 5-on-5, but the only goal came from the bad guys.
Head coach Jeff Blashill talked about how good the Blackhawks’ gaps were on Wednesday night against the Rangers. They were awful tonight. The Blues were physical and had all the time and space to do what they wanted to with the puck. The Blackhawks got a second goal, but couldn’t come up with a third.
Star 1: Wyatt Kaiser
Kaiser got the Blackhawks on the board in the first period. At the end of the second period, Kaiser had skated a team-high 14:54 and was tied for the team lead with four shot attempts and three shots on net. It was admittedly a low bar to clear, but Kaiser was the best skater on the ice for the Blackhawks tonight.

Burakovsky had an assist on Kaiser’s goal and scored the Blackhawks’ second of the night.

Bedard had two assists in the game, the second coming off a strong play on the forecheck. Unfortunately, it appeared Bedard hurt his right shoulder on the final faceoff of the game and went to the room in a lot of pain. Hopefully he’s okay for tomorrow’s game, but it didn’t look great.
Key Takeaways
Colton Dach dropped the gloves with Mailloux shortly after the Blackhawks got on the board. Those two also fought back in September during a preseason game as well. Here’s their Friday night tilt:Dach lands a few good ones in a tilt with Logan Mailloux pic.twitter.com/oZl2lDf3Jl
— BHF (@BlackhawksFocus) December 13, 2025 This game was flying early. The third faceoff of the game came at 7:06 into the first period — the first two came to start the game and after St. Louis scored. The Blackhawks won only 5 of 15 faceoffs in the first period; Jason Dickinson won 3 of 8. The Blackhawks won 7 of 20 faceoffs in the second period; they were at 34 percent thru 40 minutes. Dickinson had taken 12 (won three) while no other Hawks skater had taken more than seven. Frank Nazar spent the majority of his ice time in the first two periods at even strength (at least 5:34) against Brayden Schenn’s line (with Dylan Holloway and Mathieu Joseph), and Nazar’s line (with Tyler Bertuzzi and Oliver Moore) had decent success generating shot attempts against that trio. Nazar also saw some run with Dach and Sam Lafferty later in the second period. He stayed with Dach and Lafferty early in the third period before moving back to a line with Moore and Ryan Greene.Hence then, the article about blackhawks 2 blues 3 three stars key takeaways was published today ( ) and is available on Bleacher Nation ( Middle East ) The editorial team at PressBee has edited and verified it, and it may have been modified, fully republished, or quoted.
