As we do every year, we will be combining the results from the East meet (in Indianapolis) and the West meet (in Austin) to bring you the top 8 finishers in every event.

    Day 2 consisted of A/B/C finals of the 500 free, 200 IM, 50 free and timed finals of the 400 medley relays.

    Girls’ 500 Yard Freestyle – Finals

    SC Juniors Record: 4:27.52, Summer McIntosh – 2022 West Meet Record: 4:28.64, Bella Sims – 2022 13-14 NAG Record: 4:35.14, Katie Ledecky – 2011 15-16 NAG Record: 4:28.61, Katie Ledecky – 2014 17-18 NAG Record: 4:26.58, Katie Ledecky – 2015

    With a 3-second drop in prelims and a 5-second improvement in finals, Laker Swim’s Rylee Erisman crushed the field to clock the fastest overall time by 3.5 seconds, winning the East meet with 4:34.60. La Mirada’s Kayla Han won comfortably in the West with 4:38.28.

    Boys’ 500 Yard Freestyle – Finals

    Lakeside Aquatics’ Maxwell Stanislaus was the fastest in the West with 4:61.90, chopping 2 seconds off his seed time and posting the only sub-4:17 in the field. Baylor Stanton (4:17.39) of Gwinnett Aquatics came from behind to touch out Colin Jacobs for the win in the East, while Streamline Aquatics’ Grant Lilly was .01 faster than Jacobs with 4:17.50.

    The East had the two fastest times in the 200 IM, with both Audrey Derivaux of Jersey Wahoos and Charlotte Crush from Lakeside Swim Team putting up lifetime bests to finish in 1:53.87 and 1:54.87, respectively. Derivaux rose to #2 in the all-time rankings for 15-16 girls; only she and NAG record-holder Teagan O’Dell have broken the 1:54 barrier before turning 17. Gabi Brito from Beach Cities Alpha took the West title with 1:55.99, edging Mikayla Tan of San Ramon Valley by .14.

    Not only did he win his second event in a row, but the East’s Baylor Stanton also produced the fastest time from both sites in the 200 IM with 1:42.85. His runner-up, SwimAtlanta’s Collin Holgerson, went 1:43.23 to beat the West’s Shareef Elaydi from Santa Clara Swim Club by .59.

    Rylee Erisman from Laker Swim was the only sub-22 sprinter of the night. She won her 2nd event at the East meet with 21.95, touching just ahead of Charlotte Crush (22.02). It was Crush’s second 2nd place finish in a row, and just like she did in the IM, she relegated the West winner, Gabi Brito, to 3rd place overall.

    Life Time Northern California’s Jordan Ragland went 19.28 to claim the West title ahead of Beach Cities Alpha’s Miles Blackson-Dunbar. Mike Rice from Mecklenburg Swim Association was the East winner; his 19.30 was good for 2nd place overall.

    MSA’s Karina Plaza (53.47), Eliza Wallace (59.27), Taylor Klein (51.56), and Maddy Boland (49.58) went 3:33.88 to win the East meet and post the overall fastest time. Reina Liu (52.04), Carolin He (1:02.25), Nikki Nixon (51.43), Sloane Whelehan (48.71) of TAC Titans broke the NAG record for 15-16 girls with 3:34.43 and a second-place finish in the East.
