Valencia’s Brian Bonner signs with Washington ...Middle East

VALENCIA – Valencia running back Brian Bonner signed with the University of Washington in a ceremony on Wednesday morning on Football Signing Day in the Valencia High School gym, putting pen to paper with the Huskies after verbally committing to the school in July.

Bonner played three years of varsity football for the Vikings and helped lead Valencia to three consecutive Foothill League titles from 2023 to 2025. He established himself as one of the best running backs in the country after an excellent junior season where he tallied 1,493 rushing yards and 25 touchdowns.

Bonner earned a total of 29 scholarship offers on the back of that season including ones from programs like Notre Dame, Georgia, USC, and UCLA before choosing the Huskies ahead of his senior season.

He closed his time in high school with over 1,500 total yards and 18 total touchdowns in his final year before a loss to Palos Verdes in the CIF-SS Division 3 Playoffs.

“Brian Bonner has done an outstanding job representing Valencia High School over the last four years,” Valencia head coach Larry Muir said leading up to Bonner’s signing ceremony.

“He’s been a great football player and an outstanding person on our campus and we wish him nothing but the best with the Washington Huskies. He’s gonna do great things at the University of Washington and continue representing Valencia High School [and] the Santa Clarita Valley in the Big Ten Conference.”

Bonner – tabbed the fifth best running back in the country and 77th overall recruit in 247 Sports’ Composite Recruiting Rankings – thanked his family and friends for helping him get to where he is today, and he had some advice for younger players looking to get to a similar position as him – with one key theme.

“Stay consistent,” he said as he was discussing how he grew from year one to year four. Additionally, he said he was able to improve his speed at Valencia and complimented his coaches for helping him get better on the field.

Bonner showcased that quickness and his versatility for the Vikings as they utilized him in both inside and outside runs as well as on screens during his career.

As for the path ahead, Bonner will graduate from high school early and head up north to Washington in time for spring practice ahead of his freshman season, and he said that he is looking forward to continuing his development at the college level.

At a signing ceremony at Sierra Canyon, which finished as the area’s top-ranked team, 11 players confirmed their commitments, including Tron Baker, Brandon Lockhart and Madden Riordan, who are headed to USC. Highly recruited Richie Wesley confirmed his commitment to Texas.
