SANTA BARBARA, Calif.- (KEYT) A person was pronounced dead after crashing into a tree early Thursday morning.
The crash happened on Highway 101 Southbound near Dos Pueblos Canyon Road.
A SUV collided with a eucalyptus tree and sustained major damage.
The solo driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
Highway 101 SB is currently open, but lane 2 is closed. CHP says the road should be re-opened at 8:30 am later this morning.
CHP is investigating the accident.
