Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government has sanctioned a grant of ₹1 crore for the upcoming Bargarh Dhanu Yatra.
The decision was announced at a meeting chaired by Odia Language, Literature & Culture Minister Suryabanshi Suraj.
The iconic festival will be held in Bargarh from December 24, 2025, to January 3, 2026.
Additionally, the state government has approved an honorarium of ₹10,000 each for nearly 200 artistes participating in the event.
Dhanu Yatra, a vibrant showcase of Odisha’s cultural heritage, sees Bargarh town transform into Mathura Nagari, Ambapali into Gopapur, and the Jira river symbolically take on the role of the Yamuna.
