Yellow Alert Tuesday: Tracking a round of snow that will impact Tuesday AM commute

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Our Threat Tracker is highlighting Tuesday with a Yellow Alert for some snow during the morning commute. Amounts will not be overly heavy, but the timing may bring issues first thing in the morning. Winter Weather Advisories are in place for Wayne, Ontario, Yates, Livingston and Wyoming Counties. Snow amounts will range from an inch or two west of Rochester. 2 to 3 inches in the Genesee Valley and 3 to 6 inches in parts of Wayne County and the central and eastern Finger Lakes region. Steadier snow will be winding down midday into early afternoon with some leftover flakes south of Lake Ontario into the evening with light additional accumulations.

Weather is quiet on Wednesday before a front arrives with some wind and snow showers Thursday. A round of lake effect snow is possible and some very cold weather to end the week.
