The beloved actress who played its eponymous heroine, Melissa Joan Hart, recently spoke exclusively to Parade about the TGIF sitcom that millennials grew up watching — and how she still stays in touch with its various cast and crew members.
"[Last] weekend, I was with the guy who played Harvey and one of the character actors who played Roland for three episodes. We were at a Comic-Con together," Hart, 49, told Parade. "Last week, I went to visit Nick Bakay, who was the voice of the cat but also one of our writers. I went to visit him on the Warner Bros. lot when I was in LA. I talk to [Soleil Moon Frye] almost every day. Elisa Donovan, Alimi Ballard... literally, we're like a family... I would say it's like cousins, right? Like, sometimes you don't talk to them for a while, but then when you do, you, like, have this bond."
These days, Hart can be spotted in A Merry Little Ex-Mas, the new Netflix movie she produced with her mom. The lead actress is another '90s icon, Alicia Silverstone, and this surprisingly was Hart's first time meeting the Clueless actress, 49.
“I couldn’t believe we’d never worked together before,” she told Parade. “We hadn’t even met before, so that’s super weird — especially back then. I feel like everyone was running each other at awards shows or parties, and we never crossed paths."
Earlier this month, Hart made headlines at the Dancing With the Stars 20th birthday episode, where she and Debbie Gibson were present. Hart took to Instagram sharing that seeing Gibson was a highlight of the evening.
“Everyone keeps asking the best part of the #DancingWiththeStars anniversary was and I reply that it was running into this beauty after many years,” she captioned a photo with the “Only in my Dreams” singer, 55. “She’s adorable, kind and so fun!”
