A seventh person under indictment in a suspected burglary ring targeting metro Denver and surrounding communities was arrested after a grand jury superseded its earlier indictment.
Nicholas Schueler, 41, was arrested on Friday in Larimer County. He is facing up to 24 years in prison on charges of organized crime, burglary and theft, according to a Boulder County District Attorney’s Office press release.
Schueler remains in custody at the Larimer County Jail on $50,000 bail, according to jail records.
The new indictment came down on Thursday — nearly a month after officials arrested the first five people charged in connection with a crime ring that broke into cars and garages in Boulder County and across the metro Denver area between January 2024 and September 2025 to steal high-end bikes and credit cards. Schueler is the seventh person to be arrested in the investigation.
Between three of the people already arrested, the DA’s office announced more than 130 additional counts of organized crime-related charges, the release states. The investigation now shows the crime ring stole $1.6 million in property — roughly double what the DA’s office said in October. The crime ring also caused more than $51,000 in property damages — more than $11,000 more than the original allegation, the release states.
“As reflected by this superseding indictment, this major crime ring had a widespread impact on the metro area,” DA Michael Dougherty said in the release. “The investigators and prosecutors worked tirelessly to bring them to justice.”
