ORLEANS COUNTY, N.Y. — A man is facing charges after the Orleans County Sheriff’s Office says he sent unwanted explicit images to a minor in Ohio.
The sheriff’s office says around Aug. 7, it is believed Nicholas Horn contacted a minor in Ohio and sent unwanted explicit images.
Investigators say it is believed Horn also reached out to young adults after finding their phone numbers in online advertisements such as car detailing and lawn care.
Horn was charged with obscenity and endangering the welfare of a child. According to the sheriff’s office, Horn contacted more than 170 people under similar circumstances.
Multiple law enforcement agencies across the U.S. are helping with the investigation, the sheriff’s office says. The investigation is ongoing, and additional charges may be filed.
