Comedian and actorPete Davidsonsays he'd come back to theSaturday Night Live stage after quitting the series in 2022.
While speaking to People magazine in November 2025, Davidson said he'd make an SNL comeback the moment the show's creator and executive producer, Lorne Michaels, requested him to do so.
"I'd do anything for Lorne," shared Davidson in the People magazine interview.
He also said that he "had a great time hosting" SNL in October 2023. In addition, he said to be asked to appear as a guest or host is "an honor and a privilege."
"It's always relevant, it's a hot show. People look forward to it, and the cast is great," said Davidson to the publication.
Davidson then credited Michaels for kick-starting his career in the entertainment industry.
"I owe that guy my life. He jump-started everything. So I'd do anything for Lorne, and he knows that," said Davidson in the interview.

People magazine reported that Davidson spoke about becoming a SNL cast member in 2014 during the 2025 Peacock docuseries, SNL50: Beyond Saturday Night. Davidson revealed that he didn't feel well-suited for the show during his first year as a castmate.
"After my first year I actually called for a meeting with Lorne and I was like, ‘Please fire me,' and he’s like, ‘Why?’ And I was like, ‘I don’t belong here. Everybody’s so talented and they don’t want to be my friend,'" explained the 31-year-old in the docuseries. "Because I was a child. I was like, 'Nobody wants to be my friend.' And he said, ‘You don’t figure it out 'til your third or fourth year... It's just gonna suck for three or four years.’ And he was right.”
Davidson made similar comments about being on SNL in an August 2025 interview on the Breakfast Club. He said he felt disconnected to a majority of his SNL castmates as he was so much younger than them when he began starring on the show.
"Everyone at SNL was 10, 15 years older than me and I had a tough time. They weren't mean or anything. It's just hard to, you know, relate. I would be like, "Hey, you guys want to go smoke weed?" They're like, "We're having our first child and I'm getting married next week and all this stuff." And I was like, "Oh, you guys don't want to play video games? That's weird,'" quipped Davidson in the August 2025 interview.
He then explained he began to be more transparent about his struggles with his mental health so his SNL castmates could have a better understanding of him.
In addition, he said while he and his SNL co-stars "all respect and love each other," the show encourages competitiveness.
"You got to remember SNL, it's competitive. It's not just like a team sport. It's who could be the best this week and have their stuff on the show," said Davidson in the interview.
