Bad Company was a British rock band. Formed in the early 1970s, Bad Company's original members include Paul Rodgers, Simon Kirke, Mick Ralphs, and Boz Burrell. Some of their hits include "Bad Company", "Feel Like Makin' Love", and "Shooting Star".
Fun Fact: The band was named after the 1972 movie, Bad Company starring Jeff Bridges!

During the 80s, Lauper was in constant rotation on MTV when MTV actually showed music videos. With her eccentric clothing and wildly colored hair, she became quite popular to teens of the day, but it was her four-octave vocal range that made her songs kill on the charts. Her debut album, She's So Unusual spawned four No. 1 hits - "Girls Just Want to Have Fun", "She-Bop", "Time After Time", and "All Through the Night". She composed the music and lyrics for the Broadway play, Kinky Boots, which earned her a Tony award for Best Original Score. She is one win away from EGOT status, having already won an Emmy, Tony, and Grammy.

Outkast is a hip-hop group out of Atlanta, Georgia consisting of members Big Boi and Andre 3000. They are considered one of the most influential hip hop groups of all time. They are probably best known for their songs "Hey Ya!", "The Way You Move", and "Ma Jackson".

Despite their name, Salt-n-Pepa actually consists of three members, Sandra "Pepa" Denton, Deirdre "Spinderella" Roper, and Cheryl "Salt" James. Their hit songs include "Shoop", "Whatta Man", "Let's Talk About Sex", and "Push it".
Salt-n-Pepa will be honored with the Musical Influence Award along with Warren Zevon at this year's induction ceremony.

Lenny Waronker is a producer and music executive. He was president of Warner Bros. Records and co-founder of DreamWorks Records. He has worked with artists such as Randy Newman, Rufus Wainwright, James Taylor, and Gordon Lightfoot.
Waronker will be honored with the Ahmet Ertegun Award.

Ertegun was the co-founder of Atlantic Records and has been described as one of the most significant and influential individuals in the modern music scene. He was a music executive and a songwriter. After hearing The Rascals in a nightclub, Ertegun signed them to Atlantic. The band had 13 Top 40 hits within a four-year span. Upon listening to a demo reel from Led Zeppelin, Ertegun was sure they would hit big and signed them to the label.
