President Ahmad al-SharaaChairman of the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee Jim Risch welcomed the UN Security Council’s decision to remove President Ahmad al-Sharaa from the international sanctions list, affirming that the move will benefit Syria’s economy and its people.
Senator Risch stated in a post on platform X Friday that he is working with his colleagues in the Senate and President Donald Trump to repeal the Caesar Act sanctions, “so that Syria can become a safe and prosperous partner for the United States.”
