The first Chicago Bears injury report of Week 10 brings some encouraging news regarding running back D’Andre Swift.
Swift was a limited participant in Wedneday’s practice. This comes after Swift did not practice in any capacity at all last week before being ruled out for the team’s Week 9 win against the Cincinnati Bengals after the week’s final practice. Before missing the 47-42 thriller in Cincy, Swift was on a roll with 100-yard games against the Washington Commanders and New Orleans Saints before suffering a setback against the Baltimore Ravens. We’ll see if Swift gets another upgrade on Thursday and/or Friday. In the meantime, rookie Kyle Monangai should continue getting a lion’s share of the work.

PLAYERS WHO DID NOT PRACTICE
Josh Blackwell, cornerback (concussion) Kevin Byard, safety (back, ankle) T.J. Edwards, linebacker (hand, hamstring) DJ Moore, wide receiver (hip, groin) Rome Odunze, wide receiver (ankle, heel) Dominique Robinson, defensive lineman (ankle) Grady Jarrett, defensive tackle (rest)CHECK OUT THE BN BEARS PODCAST: Apple | Spotify | YouTube
Seeing seven players with DNPs next to their names is unsettling. But Moore and Odunze began the week as non-participants before receiving upgrades during the week and ultimately suiting up on game day. However, seeing yet another cornerback (this time, Josh Blackwell) in concussion protocol is unnerving because of the injury issues that have been prevalent in seemingly every Bears injury report.
PLAYERS WHO PRACTICED WITH LIMITATIONS
Cole Kmet, tight end (concussion) Kyle Monangai, running back (ankle) Roschon Johnson, running back (back) D’Andre Swift, running back (groin)LOOK WHO HAS THE NFL’S HOTTEST OFFENSE
Tight end Cole Kmet took a wicket hit from the Bengals before landing in concussion protocol. To see that he was limited in Wednesday’s practice instead led me to breathe a sigh of relief because I was fully expecting him to have a DNP next to his name today.

Wednesday’s Bears injury report saw wide receiver Luther Burden III get an upgrade to a full participant to start the week. Burden was in concussion protocol last week and missed the Week 9 win against the Bengals. Joining Burden as a full-go is linebacker Amen Ogbongbemiga, who will return from injured reserve ahead of Sunday’s game against the New York Giants.
