A person has died after their vehicle was struck by a Metra train in north suburban Grayslake Thursday morning.
According to Metra officials, the train on the Milwaukee District North Line struck the vehicle on the tracks at Hainsville Road on Thursday morning.
A person was inside of that vehicle, and they were pronounced dead at the scene, according to agency officials.
Metra service remains interrupted in the area, with trains not operating between Grayslake and Fox Lake at this time, according to officials.
Trains are departing Round Lake bound for Fox Lake at this time, officials said.
