ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The large upper level low that is spinning over the Great Lakes will meander over us through at least the end of the work week, keeping us cool and somewhat unsettled. Rounds of lake rain showers will continue into Thursday, but this time Lake Ontario gets involved as the wind shifts out of the northwest. Expect a few more showers, with another round into the afternoon. That being said, there will be dry periods during the day. It’ll remain cool, with highs in the lower 50s and a noticeable breeze out of the west and northwest on Thursday.
The area of low pressure will start to weaken and only very slowly move away by Friday. This means the chance for scattered showers will continue, but they will be less organized across western New York. It’ll remain cool, with highs once again near 50 degrees. We may see a few breaks of sun compared to Thursday.
The weekend looks mainly dry, as that low continues to weaken even more. There is still the slight chance of a spotty shower, especially on Saturday, but the majority of the weekend should be dry with a little more sunshine.
Looking ahead to next week, we should see more dry time, but also remaining cool, with highs in the lower 50s and even some upper 40s. An early look at Halloween has a few showers possible, along with temperatures in the lower 50s. But, that is still far enough down the road where some changes are likely. So, stay tuned!
