Gordon Ramsay is bringing something new to Miami Beach, and this time, the celebrity chef is putting steak at the center of the menu.
Ramsay’s upcoming restaurant, Lucky Cat Steak, is scheduled to open Nov. 25 in the city’s South of Fifth neighborhood. The 152-seat restaurant will take over the space previously occupied by his Lucky Cat Miami concept, but with a major change: an expanded steak program alongside the Japanese- and Korean-inspired dishes that helped define the original restaurant.
According to the restaurant’s announcement, the menu will feature premium cuts of beef, including USDA Prime, Texas Akaushi, Japanese A5 Miyazaki Wagyu and Australian Blackmore Wagyu. The steaks will be prepared over an open-flame robata grill, bringing a live-fire element to the dining experience.
But this isn’t a traditional steakhouse. The menu will also include sushi, sashimi, snapper ceviche, black cod croquettes and wagyu bulgogi tacos, blending Japanese and Korean flavors with Miami’s Latin American and tropical influences.
There’s even a playful spin on one of Ramsay’s signature dishes. The restaurant’s “GFP” swaps the chicken in Gordon’s Fried Chicken for crispy prawns, giving the familiar concept a seafood-inspired makeover.
The drinks menu is getting its own Miami-inspired treatment, too. One cocktail, the Okinawa Margarita, combines kumquat, Thai basil and salted shiso air. Another signature offering, the Lucky Negroni, lets guests roll dice to determine their combination of gin, bitters and vermouth.
Ramsay has said the new concept was designed specifically for Miami rather than simply transplanting a restaurant idea from another city. The goal is to pair the original Lucky Cat’s Asian-inspired identity with premium steaks, local influences and a lively atmosphere geared toward long dinners and late nights.
Lucky Cat Steak is scheduled to serve dinner Wednesday through Saturday, beginning Nov. 25, at 119 Washington Avenue in Miami Beach. Reservations are expected to become available through OpenTable and Resy around opening day.
