Rain continued across the North Bay on Tuesday, with a slight chance of thunderstorms lingering a day after the region saw nearly an inch of rain in some valley areas, according to the National Weather Service.
From late Monday morning through Tuesday afternoon, storms dropped between 0.8 and 1.2 inches in Santa Rosa, about an inch in Cloverdale, 0.88 in Monte Rio, 0.8 in Sonoma, just over an inch in Napa and 0.8 in Yountville, weather service data shows.
On Monday afternoon, the agency issued a flash flood warning for the 6,819-acre Pickett Fire burn scar in northeastern Napa County. As of Tuesday afternoon, meteorologist Dylan Flynn said no flooding had been confirmed in that area. A separate flood advisory remained in effect Monday afternoon from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. for southeastern Napa and southeastern Sonoma counties.
Showers persisted into Tuesday but gradually diminished through the day, Flynn said. By about 8 a.m., most areas had seen between 0.2 inches and only a trace of new rainfall, with the highest totals in the coastal mountains. By midafternoon, Santa Rosa had recorded just under 0.3 inches, Petaluma less than 0.1 and St. Helena about 1.25.
The highest rainfall was measured in the interior mountains, where Mount Veeder saw 2.72 inches, Flynn said.
Light rain was expected to taper off by early Tuesday night, with little chance of lightning or thunderstorms in the North Bay.
