Mickey Guyton is ready to deck the halls. The country singing sensation has announced that she’s embarking on her first-ever holiday tour alongside some other vocal powerhouses.
The tour, titled “Mickey Guyton & Friends Holiday Tour,” kicks off Nov. 29 in Atlanta. Guyton and friends will hit 12 cities, including stops in Chicago, Pittsburgh, Boston, Palm Desert, and more. They stop in Nashville on Nov. 30. Tickets can be purchased now
Guyton and co will perform their take on favorites, including songs from Guyton’s album Feels Like Christmas. Released last year, Guyton’s holiday album features originals such as “Sugar Cookie,” “Feels Like Christmas,” and “Mistletoe Kisses,” as well as classics like “O Holy Night” and “Do You Want To Build A Snowman.”
Guyton says the holiday is different after becoming a mother. She told Extra while promoting the album that he changed her view of Christmas. “I’m literally watching life through his eyes… Christmas has become magical again,” she gushed.
In an interview with BET, she revealed she never set out to make a holiday album. “It kind of really fell into my lap how this even happened,” she explained. “I record a Christmas song every year for the last three or four years, and that’s how this project came about. It feels like the Christmas project chose me.” She also echoed similar sentiments about motherhood and the holiday with BET, saying, “Take in every moment from the good and the bad, especially during the holiday season.”
The singer shared her excitement about the upcoming tour on Instagram. “Happy Christmas in July, we’re going on tour! “ she wrote, adding that the tour will bring “the warmth, joy and spirit of the season to audiences across the country this winter.”
As for what her favorite holiday tunes are, Guyton previously shared with iHeartCountry that she loves “O Holy Night,” Brenda Lee’s “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree,” Mariah Carey’s iconic “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” to name a few.
