SAN JOSE — A South Bay garbage and recycling company has bought a San Jose property that consists of land and an industrial building across the street from a large apartment complex.
An entity affiliated with Republic Services has paid $10 million to buy a site at 665 North King Road in East San Jose, according to documents filed on Oct. 9 with the Santa Clara County Recorder’s Office.

By happenstance, the just-purchased industrial property is across the street from a large apartment complex known as Linq. The 230-unit Linq apartment property was bought in September for $97.6 million.
It wasn’t immediately clear what uses Republic Services or its affiliate envision for the 665 North King property.
Republic Services has an exclusive franchise with city officials to collect and process garbage, recyclables and organics from all businesses in San Jose. Under separate agreements, other companies provide residential services in San Jose.
