It seems Robert MacIntyre has a new golf buddy in tennis legend Andy Murray.
The Scottish duo have been playing alongside one another at the Alfred Dunhill Links this week.
While Ryder Cup hero MacIntyre is eyeing glory in the professional event, much of the spotlight has been on Murray too.
The former Wimbledon champion has become a huge fan of golf since hanging up his tennis racket and has caught the eye with some superb play around the Scottish Links this week.
Unfortunately, the infamous Fife weather has caused mayhem at the 2025 Dunhill Links but the rain couldn’t dampen spirits at the much-loved event.
MacIntyre and Murray played alongside one another for the second round, battling the brutal elements brought on by Storm Amy.
And MacIntyre was quick to quip that Murray will no longer be able enjoy the pleasures of Wimbledon’s Centre Court as he switches his allegiances from tennis to golf.
Posting pictures of the two Scottish sporting greats, MacIntyre said: “Can’t close the roof here Andy.”
The third round of the Dunhill Links is taking place today with the tournament now set to be decided over 54 holes.
Play was cancelled on Saturday due to high winds.
After Friday’s brutal weather conditions in Scotland led to a suspension of the second round, those with holes still to finish returned to the week’s three host courses – the Old Course at St Andrews, Carnoustie and Kingsbarns – on Saturday morning.
Round three then got under way in the early afternoon but no-one managed to complete more than two holes before play was suspended again.

Home favourite MacIntyre and South Africa’s Richard Sterne started the day as the men to catch at the top of the leaderboard on 12 under par.
MacIntyre was among Europe’s heroic Ryder Cup team last week.
The Scot impressed in the hostile environment of Bethpage Black as Luke Donald’s team held off a Sunday resurgence from the Americans to win the cup yet again.
MacIntyre has enjoyed a hero’s welcome back in Scotland this week and will now be eyeing another big win to cap off a great year.
The 29-year-old posted a remarkable 66 on Friday despite the horrendous weather.
MacIntyre has been brilliant in Scotland this weekGettyAmid strong winds and heavy rain, the Oban-native rose to the occasion to put himself in a great position after dealing with ‘5 gloves and a 4 club wind’.
He added: “It was almost a perfect round of golf, especially once the weather came in, just a lovely round.
“It’s difficult when it gets this windy. It’s hard to hit the ball good with the wind.
“So I was having to try and fight the wind on certain holes and wasn’t comfortable. But I made some beautiful shots. Yeah, putted solidly in the wind.”
