Andy Murray was able to see the funny side after a moment to forget on his professional golf debut.
The tennis icon is amongst the celebrities appearing in the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship.
As part of the DP World Tour event’s pro-am format, professional players are paired up with amateurs.
Those duos compete for the team title alongside the pro leaderboard.
Murray, who is making his debut, is partnered with world number 547 Eddie Pepperell.
The event is played across The Old Course at St. Andrew’s, Carnoustie and Kingsbarns.
Following their second round, Pepperell and Murray, who is playing off a handicap of three, are tied-28th on 15 under par.
However, the three-time Grand Slam champion was left red faced on the fourth hole at Kingsbarns on Friday.
After finding a fairway bunker with his tee shot, Murray was left with a difficult recovery effort out of the sand.
With the television cameras fixed on him, the 38-year-old topped his ball, causing it to roll to the right and remain in the bunker.
Murray responded by dropping his head with his hands on his knees as he looked to the ground.
He was able to see the funny side, though, bursting out laughing before composing himself for his next attempt as spectators around him also chuckled.

Murray has made no secret of his love for golf, even playing with fellow Grand Slam champion Carlos Alcaraz prior to this year’s Wimbledon.
His dedication to the sport has increased since his retirement from tennis last summer following the Paris Olympics.
Despite his bunker woes, a par from Pepperell on the fourth at Kingsbarns meant Murray’s score was not needed for their team total.

He had previously produced an eagle at Carnoustie during their opening round on Thursday.

As for Pepperell, he is 58th on four under on the pro leaderboard, with Robert MacIntyre and Richard Sterne eight shots clear at the top of the standings.
