Summer Juniors qualifier Oskar Plotnik has verbally committed to Fairfield University for the class of 2030.
“I am ecstatic to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at a Division 1 level at Fairfield University! I would first like to thank God for gifting me with such opportunities as this one. I would next like to thank Coach Shawn and Coach Tom for pushing me in and out of the pool. I’d lastly like to thank my family and friends for being supportive through it all. GO STAGS!!”
Plotnik swims for the University of Denver Hilltoppers in Colorado. In March, he swam at the Speedo Sectionals meet in Austin, where he qualified for finals in the 100 back after setting a new best time of 51.23 in the prelims. In finals, he finished 24th overall in 51.95.
He also qualified for the finals in the 200 back, swimming 1:49.85 in prelims to break 1:50 for the first time, and he set another new personal best in the 1000 free, swimming 9:26.94 to finish 13th overall.
His other events were the 200 free (1:44.93), 500 free (4:43.37), and 1650 free (15:04.86).
