Another Bears Victory Monday is in the books. It’s becoming the norm. Chicago heads to Green Bay this week, and they’re 2.5-point favorites over the Packers at Lambeau Field, even with Caleb Williams sidelined. The last time the Bears were favored over the Packers on the road was in Week 1 of 2006, when the team was coming off of a Super Bowl appearance under Lovie Smith.
The biggest tell regarding how things are changing is that I haven’t seen one piece of Packers smack make its way into my social feeds all day. We’re still unpacking Week 4 for the next 48-ish hours, but it’s Packers week, and that typically starts on Monday; yet, after the Bears dismantled New York and the Packers narrowly escaped the Baker-less Bucs, things are pretty quiet coming out of Green Bay today. The next biggest tell is how easy Ben Johnson’s Bears are making this all look. Back-to-back wins without Caleb Williams. Back-to-back dominations by all three units and both backup quarterbacks. The sky felt like it was falling when Williams went down in the fourth quarter of that Vikings game two weeks ago, but not only is Chicago 2-0 since, they’re not eeking out wins or winning ugly; they’re rolling through their opponents, and they’re making it look easy. Heck, they’re making it feel easy:“One of the easiest NFL games I ever played in. I’m not sore at all.”Devin Bush after the Bears had the ball for 42+ minutes vs New York Jets?Said he was getting bored on the sideline? pic.twitter.com/a6Imfb6HIi

In Johnson’s afternoon media availability, he added to reporters: “He’s doing a great job with his rehab. He’s not going to be there this week for us, but we think it’s still a week-to-week deal for us.” He also said that Kyle Monangai’s thumb injury is going to be fine: “We think he is going to be ok, so we’ll see what it looks like as we go through the week here, but more of a day-to-day type deal.” The Williams news is pretty much expected at this point. I thought there was a chance he would play in Green Bay, and I believe that if the last two games didn’t go the way they have, that chance would have been pretty good. But with an elite rushing attack, a wizard-like play caller, and a pretty good defense keeping them unbeaten in Williams’ absence, there’s no reason not to let him take as much time as he needs to get back to 100 percent.THE BN BEARS PODCAST LIVES HERE: Apple | Spotify | YouTube
