2025 SWIMMING WORLD CUP – CARMEL

October 10-12, 2025 Carmel, Indiana SCM (25 meters) Meet Central Psych Sheets

The official entries for the opening leg of the 2025 World Cup in Carmel were released on Thursday, with a loaded lineup of swimmers set to take on some busy schedules over the three-day meet beginning next Friday.

The entrants for the competition include the nine swimmers committed to racing all three legs of the circuit–Summer McIntosh, Kaylee McKeown, Kate Douglass, Mollie O’Callaghan, Hubert Kos, Thomas Ceccon, Noe Ponti, Josh Liendo, and Regan Smith–along with several other star names led by Leon Marchand and Gretchen Walsh.

Looking at the entries, the majority of the top swimmers have opted to take on expanded schedules–more than one event per day—with McIntosh, Walsh and Douglass all in five events, while Marchand has entered a whopping seven events.

    KEY WOMEN’S EVENT SCHEDULES

McIntosh has entered the three events in which she broke the world record and won the short course world title last year, those being the 400 free, 200 fly and 400 IM, and she’s also slated to swim the 200 back and 200 IM.

Her 200 IM entry sets up an exciting showdown with Douglass, the reigning SC world champion and world record holder, and 2024 SC World silver medalist Alex Walsh, while the 200 back could be salivating with McIntosh joined by current world record holder Smith and former world record holder McKeown.

Walsh is entered in all four of the events in which she broke the world record last December–50 free, 50 fly, 100 fly and 100 IM–and she’s also entered in the 50 back, where she could take a run at Smith’s world record of 25.23 after clocking 25.37 during a dual meet against Florida last fall.

Smith and McKeown, meanwhile, will go head-to-head in all three female backstroke events, while Smith will also battle McIntosh in the 200 fly. O’Callaghan will also factor prominently in the 50 and 100 back, and she’s also the favorite coming into the 100 and 200 free.

    KEY MEN’S EVENT SCHEDULES

Marchand is notably not in the 400 IM, but takes on the other two medley events along with another one of his primary events, the 200 breast. He’s also selected some ‘off’ events as he puts more focus on freestyle this year, with entries in the 100, 200 and 400 free, plus the 200 back.

Among the other entries listed below, the only real surprise is Carson Foster entering the 1500 free, while Shaine Casas notably takes on all the backstroke and IMs and no butterfly.
