Conor McGregor involved in fiery BKFC face-off as he doubles down on Mike Perry threat: ‘Fart in the wind’

Conor McGregor has made his message to Mike Perry clear: You’re out if you don’t perform.

McGregor was unsurprisingly front and centre of another Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC) press conference on Thursday night ahead of Perry’s huge bout with Jeremy Stephens.

McGregor was right in the middle of proceedings at the Prudential Center, New Jersey, ahead of Perry’s main event clash with Stephens at BKFC 82Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship The Irishman has said twice now that he will release Perry from his promotion if he does not ‘perform’ in the headline actBKFC

Perry makes his sixth bare-knuckle boxing appearance against his fellow former UFC fighter Stephens in the main event of BKFC 82 on Saturday night.

Last week, McGregor told Perry that he would be sacked live in front of 17,000 fans at the Prudential Center for BKFC’s New Jersey debut if he underperforms against Stephens.

This followed McGregor’s unofficial sacking of ‘Platinum’ in July 2024 after the latter lost a professional boxing bout to Jake Paul, which the BKFC co-owner did not take too kindly to.

With Perry now the star attraction of BKFC 82 this weekend, McGregor has doubled down on his threat to Perry that this could be his last fight in the promotion.

“The ‘King of Violence’ is making his return,” McGregor said at BKFC 82’s press conference.

“A man who paved the way in the sport, rose up and did incredible things.

“Then, he made an error [fighting Paul], went a different way, which was a big mistake in my opinion.

“But now he’s back, people are underestimating him, he’s got a big point to prove…

“And you know what’s at stake, Michael. If you don’t perform, you’re gone.

“You can go back to those exhibition bouts and Misfits [Boxing]. We’ll part ways!

McGregor put on his promoter hat for the Newark press conference, bringing the heat before his fighters go to war at BKFC 82Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship It wasn’t long before he went back and forth with Perry in his own war of words, declaring the American must fight for a world title if he gets past StephensBare Knuckle Fighting Championship

“But I’m confident you’ll show up, do your thing, and I’m excited to see it.”

Perry vs Stephens winner could fight McGregor in BKFC

Perry’s fight with Stephens could have big ramifications on the bare-knuckle scene, but also on the future of McGregor.

McGregor has insisted numerous times that he will fight under the BKFC banner after seeing out the final two fights in his UFC contract, which is set to begin at the White House in 2026.

When revealing that his UFC White House return is officially signed, McGregor said that he will be watching the BKFC 82 main event as a ‘competitor.’

“I’ll be sizing up the two gentlemen,” McGregor added.

The promotion then mentioned at the end of BKFC 82’s press conference that a potential fight with McGregor is on the line for the winner.

However, McGregor also declared that Perry will be fighting for a world title first if he gets past Stephens on Saturday night.

Several fans have been confused over Perry’s matchmaking in the promotion, as he is undefeated but has never fought for a belt.

David Mundell is the current BKFC middleweight champion and has been wanting to fight Perry for a while, given the pair have already contested two bouts in their respective MMA careers.

Mundell started his combat sports career in mixed martial arts, building up a 10-5 record, and ‘The Redneck’ has since won 10 of his 11 bare-knuckle bouts.

McGregor was asked about this during the press conference.

McGregor: Perry will be ‘a fart in the wind’ if he underperforms against Stephens

“I like Mike. It’s hard not to like Mike,” the Irishman responded, speaking of the pair’s love-hate relationship.

“[Perry is] a good family man, and he’s going through his troubles — he shows up to fight.

“I just think world title honours are what it’s about. You’ve never been a world champion. You have a chance here.”

Perry then hit back, saying to McGregor that he hasn’t fought in the promotion, and telling him to come get his King of Violence crown.

“I own this f***** thing,” McGregor responded.

“What are you talking about? I’m the owner. I book the matches! You need to climb for a world title; otherwise, you’re here today, gone tomorrow.

“Michael Perry, a fart in the wind. That’ll be you if you don’t climb for a world title.”

Perry hit back once more, saying he’s achieved far more than McGregor has done recently in the fighting world.

“I’m coming back [to] the White House,” McGregor replied.

“You’re trying to clamber for it and switch roles. You’re fighting for a world title next if you get through this – deal with it.

“‘The Redneck’ Mundell – the big boss is gonna make it happen, baby!”
