England fans face watching the Three Lions after midnight during the 2026 World Cup.
Thomas Tuchel’s side are closing in on a place at next summer’s tournament in Canada, Mexico and the USA.
However, concerns over the heat and humidity at host venues could see kick-off times changed in a blow to supporters watching at home.
It had previously been expected the kick-off times would mirror those used for this year’s Club World Cup.
The tournament saw fixtures played at 5pm, 8pm, 11pm and 2am BST.
Those kick-off times meant matches played at 5pm in the UK kicked off at midday local time on the east coast of the USA.
That was also the case for 8pm kick-offs on the west coast during the revamped tournament.
Players and managers from multiple clubs complained about the heat at matches, though.
Paris Saint-Germain’s group stage match against Atletico Madrid in Los Angeles saw temperatures reach 40 degrees celsius.
Meanwhile, Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez revealed he felt dizzy during one of his side’s fixtures.
CONCACAF president Victor Montagliani has now revealed how tournament organisers are preparing to handle the issues ahead of the World Cup.
Whilst speaking at the Leaders Conference, he was asked what major lessons had been learned from the Club World, replying: “Kick-off times.”
Concerns over the heat at matches during the Club World Cup had caused a rethink over kick-off timesGettyExpanding on his response, Montagliani admitted: “Kick-off times are always an issue in our region because summers are hot in Canada and US.
“We’re having conversations daily with European media and other world media, in terms of what’s best and which are the stadiums that you can play at 3pm. That’s all in the mix now.
“Once the actual schedule comes out after the draw, we will do our best to ensure it’s taken into consideration.
“Will it be that every game will be absolutely perfect from a kick-off time, from a TV perspective? I don’t know.”
The expanded 48-team tournament will be played across 16 host venues in Canada, Mexico and the USA.
As a result of the increased number of fixtures, the group stage will see 11 consecutive days where four matches are played at different times.

The 2026 World Cup will begin on June 11, with the final on July 19 at the 82,500-capacity MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
Although England are yet to qualify, they are on course to reach an eighth consecutive finals.
Tuchel has guided the Three Lions to five wins from their opening five qualifying fixtures ahead of a trip to Latvia this month.
A win in Riga on October 14 could see England book their spot at the World Cup if other results go there way.
The Three Lions are on the brink of reaching next summer’s expanded World Cup finalsAFPFans would then have to wait before discovering their group stage opponents as well as venues and kick-off times.
The draw for the World Cup is scheduled to take place on December 5 in Washington, DC.
England supporters will have some experience of watching matches beyond midnight.
The Three Lions’ opening match at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil saw them face Italy at 11pm BST in Manaus.
