FERN Britton showed off her stunning weight loss results as she donned a pair of cycling shorts during a bike trip around Italy.
The Celebrity Big Brother star, 68, who has been open about her weight struggles in the past, flaunted her five stone weight loss in tight-fitting cycle-wear on an Instagram post.
Fern, who claims to have lost weight naturally without fat jabs after fluctuating between size 22 and size 12, was beaming in the holiday snaps where she was joined by a pal – as fans lauded her over her new figure.
In the caption, Fern wrote: “A glorious week in Italy with the Bike Buddies! Friendships spanning 20 years. Love you ladies”.
Her followers quickly praised the TV personality for her noticeable body transformation, after struggling with her weight throughout her career.
One fan wrote: “You look so happy and glowing !! used to see you often cycling past when I lived in Missenden .you look 20 years younger and your an inspiration Fern x”
Another wrote: “How wonderful. Looking fabulous Fern [heart eye emoji]. You are definitely one of the people inspiring me to get fit before I hit 60 xx”.
While one chimed: “Wow you looking amazing Fern [heart eye emoji] good for you [hand clap emoji] x”.
The TV personality revealed that she avoided using fat jabs, and attributed her five stone weight loss to cutting sugar, 6am gym classes and couch to 5K.
“People often wonder when you’ve lost lots of weight whether you’ve done it naturally. And I can look at you and say, ‘Yes, I have’”, she told Woman&Home magazine.
She continued: “I had my shoulder replacement 18 months ago, and two-and-a-half years ago, when I saw the surgeon, he said, ‘I’m going to totally replace your shoulder, I’ll see you in a year.’
“I thought, ‘I need to get my life back on track. I need to stop smoking, stop drinking, get eating under control and stop lying in bed feeling sorry for myself’.
“So I started the Couch to 5k, took about 80 per cent of the sugar out of my life and started to think about what I was eating, which I had never done before.”
Fern says a shoulder replacement kick-started her need to get her eating under control.
She started the Couch to 5K and has today been showing off her new look, five stone down.
It comes after the end of her 20-year marriage to TV chef Phil.
“I told myself, ‘I need to stop smoking, stop drinking, get eating under control and stop lying in bed feeling sorry for myself'”, Fern added.
She admits she’s “feeling pretty good”, but “it would be foolish to say I feel spot on 100 per cent of the time” since the split.
Fern shares twin sons Harry and Jack, 31, and daughter Grace, 27, from her first marriage, to Clive Jones, and daughter Winnie, 23, with Phil Vickery.
