Dairy Queen's new Blizzard flavor offers a very cool twist to one of this season's hottest trends.
The internationally adored fast food chain is no stranger to creating a frozen dessert delicacy that incorporates Oreo cookies. In the not-too-distant past, fans have seen DQ’s take on the classic Oreo Dirt Pie, successfully demanded the return of its Mint Oreo Blizzard, and even felt teased when it tested a Golden Oreo Confetti Blizzard Treat and the limited Monster Cone Dip.
This fall, however, fans are getting a DQ Blizzard that was apparently inspired by this season's obsession with the Oreo x Reese's cookie collaboration.
Dairy Queen's New Oreo x Reese's Blizzard: What We Know So Far
Although the brand hasn't officially announced the new treat just yet, Parade has it on good word that a Blizzard treat combining Oreo cookie pieces, Reese's Cups and Dairy Queen's soft serve will be available very soon.

AllRecipe's Bailey Fink and trusted food blogger SnachWithZach were able to get a first taste of the new treat, calling it "a match made in literal Blizzard heaven" in their joint review. Fast-food influencer Markie_devo was also among those reporting on the new menu item, joking that "every collab should include Oreo & Reese’s."
From what we understand, the new Oreo x Reese's Blizzard won't be replacing any of the seasonal, previously announced fall flavors. Instead, it's being added to the lineup as the chain's monthly exclusive flavor.

That said, the October Flavor of the Month is unique in that even after it's long gone, as fans may be able to customize their Blizzard order to enjoy it any time they want. Here's how: You'll need to order a Dairy Queen Blizzard in either its Reese's or Oreo flavor and then add either Oreo cookies or Reese's Cups as an extra add-on. This hack, obviously, only works if your DQ location has the correct toppings (and you're willing to pay extra for it) but fans say it hasn't let them down yet.
"This is always my go to order ??," one Instagram user gushed.
"This is the blizzard i order!! I normally order reese's blizzard add oreo," a second shared.
"Two icons in the drinks, two icons tasting the drinks…. ✌?," someone else joked.
"The perfect Blizzard," a different fan added, begging the brand to "make it gluten free!!!"
Even DQ got in on the action, teasing, "OREO® cookie pieces + REESE’S peanut butter cups + DQ soft serve? Yes. ??."
According to reports, the Dairy Queen's October Flavor of the Month may launch as early as Monday, Sept. 29, at some locations. Everywhere else can expect it to be served starting Wednesday, Oct. 1.
A DQ spokesperson was not immediately available for comment. We will update this post with any relevant information.
