The ninth annual Bracewell community reunion picnic will be held from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday at Von Trotha-Firestien Historic Farm in the Bracewell settlement northwest of Greeley.
Anyone who has lived in Bracewell or has an interest in the settlement is invited to attend. The farm is located at 30951 Weld County Road 27.
Attendees are asked to bring a dish to share. Table service and beverages will be provided.
The picnic is being held to reunited former and current residents of Bracewell, and to collect historic pictures and stories of the area. These will be compiled into booklets.
The Bracewell settlement was established about 1882 as a railroad station on the Colorado and Southern Railroad. Former businesses and schools included the Bracewell School, the Bracewell Sugar Beet Dump, and the Bracewell Store.
