DENVER (KDVR) — Police, SWAT operators and negotiators are in a Commerce City neighborhood after occupants barricaded themselves inside a residence following a call about shots fired.
The Commerce City Police Department said they first responded to a call about shots being fired in a residence before 9 a.m. Just before 9 a.m., police said officers were in the 5300 block of 63rd Place, where occupants have been "non-compliant" with orders to exit and have barricaded inside the residence.
SWAT operators and negotiators are on scene in the area, a few blocks to the west of Dick's Sporting Goods Park.
The department said residents should avoid the area or stay inside if they live nearby.
