Boldest Prediction for This Season, Believer vs. Skeptic, A Fun League Pass Team? and Other Bulls Bullets

Popular basketball content creator and Chicago Bulls fan Kenny Beecham asked one simple question: What is your boldest NBA prediction for next season?

Simple! The Bulls lose in the Play-In Tournament … but not to the Heat.

In all seriousness, if I had to give my boldest Chicago Bulls take for this upcoming season, I’d probably say they make the playoffs. The Eastern Conference is a complete wild card. Not only will the two top teams be without their best players for the entire year, but we saw just one season ago how fast things can fall off the deep end for certain teams. The 76ers were a complete non-factor from the jump, finishing with a mere 24 wins. The Bulls have made it very clear that they are not going to bottom out. Likewise, they turned some heads over the last month and a half of 2024-25, finishing the season 15-5. There is a world where this group continues to build an uptempo identity that gives teams problems while also improving slightly on the defensive end. As far as I’m concerned, that could be enough to put them in true contention for the 7/8 seed. To be sure, I wouldn’t advise anyone to put money on this. It’s called a bold prediction for a reason! This team can crumble and finish Top 5 in the lottery just as easily as they compete for a fourth-straight Play-In Tournament. What I will say, however, is that a postseason nod would at least feel a tad more meaningful this season than it would have had in either of the past two years. We knew the LaVine-DeRozan-Vucevic trio wasn’t going anywhere. There is a lot more unknown with this current roster. I can at least be convinced now that a taste of the playoffs is a good thing for many of the young players on this roster. Not to mention, if this bold prediction did come true, it likely means that several of the young players exceeded expectations. And that would make getting those players some postseason experience feel even more important! For what it’s worth, I threw out a few more hot takes about the 2025-26 campaign the other week. If we’re going to be irrationally optimistic, now would be the time! Four Hot Takes for the 2025-26 Chicago Bulls Because Why Not CBS Sports’ James Herbet gave a preview of this upcoming Bulls season and shared what a conversation might look like between a current Bulls Believer and Bulls Skeptic. It made for a good read! As I always like to say, two things can be true. I think there are great points that people on both the positive and negative ends of the spectrum can make about the state of the franchise. Of course, I would probably side more with the skeptic, but there is no denying that the organization is in a better place now than it was to begin 2024-25. Whether it be the handful of intriguing young players or the financial flexibility, it’s at least easier to come up with ways for them to find the right path. Also, take this with a grain of salt, but I do think the Bulls are destined to be a fun League Pass team. Even if you haven’t bought into their previous end-of-season success, you can’t deny they were significantly more fun to watch. Their pace of play would slowly break down opponents and lead to some wild fourth quarters. Whether it be Coby White’s three-level shotmaking, Matas Buzelis’ high-flying dunking, or Josh Giddey’s flashy passing, this is a team that is made to play a fun brand of basketball. The team’s cast of role players has even gotten a boost. Kevin Huerter can knock down big shots, Zach Collins plays super hard, Tre Jones is a savvy playmaker, and Isaac Okoro is an on-ball menace. Now … will this lead to many wins? Probably not! But I’ll always take bad and fun over bad and boring. © Bill Streicher-Imagn Images ICYMI: Josh Giddey’s new deal with the Bulls was called one of the most underrated moves of the summer … Hey Wow, A Top NBA Expert Actually Praised the Chicago Bulls! Let’s hope Caleb Williams goes into Sunday afternoon’s game against his former HC with a chip on his shoulder. Right before training camp starts up, the Blackhawks reached a new two-year deal with one of their defenseman. THE CUBS ARE BACK IN THE PLAYOFFS, BABY!!
